Different rules for school days and weekends? Schedule mode: workday & rest-day vs by weekday

Compare workday & rest-day (two templates, stable routines — the default) with by weekday (one set per day, good for extracurriculars and split weekends), plus whether switching loses config and how to bulk-generate between the two.

I want different rules for school days and weekends — how?

Use the default workday & rest-day mode: maintain just two templates and the system picks one based on whether today is a workday or a rest day. Switch to by weekday if every day differs (extracurriculars, half-day Wednesday, split weekends). Compare the two below.

Does switching lose my existing settings?

No. The two configurations coexist independently; switching shows a confirmation dialog and switching back keeps the original slots. The row for today is selected by default so you can edit the current day right away.

How do I copy one configuration to the other quickly?

Use bulk generate to sync the two configurations — handy when one mode is already tuned and you want to spread it to the other. Generation is destructive with a confirmation prompt; see below.

Bulk generate: sync the two modes

  • Generate from workday/rest-day: overwrite Mon–Fri with the workday template and Sat/Sun with the rest-day template.
  • Generate from weekday: overwrite the workday template with Monday's rules and the rest-day template with Saturday's rules.
