My child sneaks into games during class — Study Exclusive mode and points multiplier
With Study Exclusive on, all processes outside the study group and the system allowlist are closed, and non-study browser tabs are closed too. There are two entries: the global Exclusive mode switch on the App Management page, and the per-slot “exclusive for selected study groups” option in the slot editor. Use it mainly for homework or class slots.
My child sneaks into games during online classes — what can I do?
Turn on Study Exclusive for the homework or class slot: everything outside study apps and the system allowlist closes automatically, so games are out of reach. Add a points multiplier so focused studying also earns entertainment time. Steps below.
Two ways to enable
| Entry | Where | Scope | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Global exclusive | App Management → tick Exclusive mode (study apps only) | Every slot | Families needing a long-term, strict baseline |
| Per-slot exclusive | Time Management → Edit slot → Bind apps → tick the study group and enable exclusive | That slot only | Homework or class time only (recommended) |
How to enable (recommended: per slot)
- 01
Create the study app group first
Settings → App Management → create a Study apps group, add online classes, dictionaries, IDEs and homework apps, and enable Study apps.
- 02
Bind the study group in a slot
Time Management → Edit slot → click Bind apps and tick the study group in the sub-window.
- 03
Tick exclusive and save
Tick Exclusive for selected study groups, save, then click Apply Now.
- 04
Set the points multiplier
App Management → select an entry in the study group → Set rate → enter how many time points 1 study minute earns.
How many time points does one study minute earn?
It is set by the group's points multiplier: 1 study minute = N time points, starting at 1. Points accrue only while the study app is in the foreground with user input — idling does not count. Children can also earn points by answering questions in a Points & Quiz slot; see the related guide.
Four process control modes
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Restrict | Restricted apps are killed when the limit hits |
| Points reward | Studying accumulates points |
| Exclusive | Everything outside the allowlist and study apps is killed |
| Exclusive + points | Exclusive mode plus points earning |
